We conducted a Home-to-Home Counselling Program in Imphal East and Imphal West Districts, Manipur.
The counselling team comprised Program Manager M. Premier Singh, Program Consultant Ch. Devkumar, and the Centre’s staff members. During the programme, the team interacted with individuals having various disabilities, including locomotor disabilities, mental retardation, multiple disabilities, and cerebral palsy.
The team provided detailed information about the welfare schemes initiated by the Government of India for persons with disabilities. The counselling sessions aimed to raise awareness about available benefits and entitlements and to guide individuals in accessing these government schemes. The program successfully identified key challenges faced by differently abled individuals and underscored the need for greater awareness, accessibility, and inclusive support in implementing government welfare services.
